‘Twas the night before The Rapture

‘Twas the night before The Rapture, and all through
our house not a Christian was sleeping not even my spouse;
Our Bibles were open to First Thessalonians 4 with care,
In hopes that Jesus soon would be there;
Our children in their jammies all-snug in their beds
right after their prayers and bowing their heads;
And Mom in her rocker with baby on her lap,
And me, I just settled down to rest my back,

When out of the Eastern Sky there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When, what to my wandering eyes should appear,
But The ARC ANGEL of Heaven proclaiming
that Jesus was here!
 The Trump of God sounded and those in-Christ
He raised from the dead! I new in a moment,
It’s JESUS returning just as HE said.
And then it happened, in the twinkling of an eye,
we were changed and glorified, to meet our Savior in the sky.

The Christians whose names had been written with love,

He gathered to take to His Father above.
For those who were ready He rose with a rushing sound,
While the rest world remained that had rejected his crown.

Now they believe but it is too late,

They waited too long and thus sealed their fate.
And now as their saved loved ones rise out of sight;
Oh, if only they had been ready for this fateful night.
As we celebrate in heaven with jubilation,
Those who remain now face the Great Tribulation.
Jesus warned us to be ready for HIS soon TRUMPET call,

AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!
