When you need carried!

Daily Blessing In those places where you feel like sighing, may Jesus put a new song in your heart. Where you’re weary from holding on, may He give you new courage to stand strong. Where you’ve waited long to see the breakthrough, may He very soon do what only He can do. Sometimes it feels… Continue reading When you need carried!

Tired? Scared?

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 I’ve been struggling lately with depression. I wonder if you have too? I’ve had irrational thoughts about my pistol even. Now I don’t believe… Continue reading Tired? Scared?

The gun

The Gun It was a New Year’s Eve night. As I came in the door I faced a 38 revolver, cocked and ready to fire, held by a woman, not in her right mind. The wild look in her eyes told me I was in real trouble. She held the pointed it at my head.… Continue reading The gun

I’m not ashamed!

I’m Not ASHAMED!

I want to say something about the spirituality debate. You don’t believe in God? That’s ok, but why is it so important for many of you to mock those of us that do? If we’re wrong, what have we lost when we die? Nothing! How does our faith in Jesus Christ bring you any harm? You think it makes me stupid? Gullible? Ignorant? That’s ok too. How does that affect you? If you’re wrong your consequence is far worse. I would rather live my life believing in God and serving Him, and find out I was right, than not believe in Him and not serve Him, and find out I was wrong. Then it’s too late.

Ain’t no shame in my game! I believe in Jesus Christ. He said deny me in front of your friends & I will deny you in front of my Father.

Encouragement???

Are you an encourager or a discourager? Often when we have a stroke or other situation that may change who we have been all our lives, we struggle with those changes. Trying to find ourselves again. We have lost who we were, often in the blink of an eye. Through no fault of our own,… Continue reading Encouragement???

The invisible people What happens when we aren’t in the public’s eye any longer? Have you ever noticed or been a recipient of the “ invisible person syndrome”? Did you retire, or are you in bad health suddenly? There are many reasons why we become invisible. But the facts remain we are. We can’t always make the meetings or church. But we are still here. Maybe we need some help with things we can’t do anymore. Maybe we just need encouraged occasionally. Especially as friends or family begin to die off. Our own vulnerabilities become obvious . Please don’t think that our children are taking care of us because they have lives too and don’t always realize we aren’t the same person anymore. Please don’t just think we are ok, check on us once in awhile. We did not always choose to become invisible.
